How to Care for Coloured Hair in Bali’s Humid Climate
Bali’s tropical weather is paradise for the soul — but not always for coloured hair. Between sun, saltwater, and high humidity, your colour can fade and frizz fast. Luckily, a few smart habits can keep your locks luscious.
1. Use colour-safe, sulfate-free shampoo.
This is non-negotiable. Sulfates strip away your colour, making it fade faster. Our salon stocks luxe, colour-safe formulas that cleanse gently without dulling your shade.
2. Deep condition weekly.
Humidity pulls moisture out of your hair, leaving it frizzy. A rich mask once a week will keep your strands hydrated, silky, and smooth.
3. Shield from UV and heat.
Bali’s sun is intense. Use UV-protecting leave-in sprays and avoid over-styling with heat. If you must use tools, always apply a heat protector first.
4. Rinse with cool water.
Hot water lifts the cuticle, which makes colour fade. A quick cool rinse at the end of your shower helps lock, shine and seal in pigment.
5. Gloss it up.
A toner or gloss refresh every 4–6 weeks keeps your colour vibrant and banishes brassiness — especially for blondes.
Healthy hair is happy hair, and with a little extra TLC, your colour will survive even the stickiest Bali days.
